Curators of Black Media

‘There is a God:” Georgia Teachers gift car to school custodian

Georgia Teachers and staff at Unity Grove Elementary in Henry County noticed that one of their co-workers, head custodian Mr. Chris was walking to work each day.

The custodian didn’t his lack transportation stop him from getting to work on time. Two teachers, Megan MacDonald and Jodi Combs, learned about this and began looking to buy a car. Mr. Chris had $1,500 saved.

MacDonald and Combs found a car they knew Mr. Chris would love, but it cost a little bit more than he had to pay. Therefore, they put a call out to other teachers to help them raise enough money to cover the difference.

They were able to raise the money in quickly. Now in a video that has seen over 2 million times, Mr. Chris walks out to the car and his co-workers hand the stunned custodian the keys according to WSB-TV 2.

In the video, Mr. Chris finds out the car is his and is thankful.  “There is a God,” he yells. “Oh my stars. I thank you all.”

Mr. Chris thanked everyone for the car. “This is mind-blowing to me,” Mr. Chris said. “As we were walking up I was thinking like, ‘This is a nice car.’”

“Well, let’s see you in it,” one of the teachers said.
