Folks Defend Simone Biles Against Piers Morgan And Charlie Kirk For Dismissing The Gymnast’s Mental Health

Conservative activist Charlie Kirk also attacked Biles for her decision to withdraw from Tuesday’s competition to focus on her mental health.

He called the gymnast a “selfish sociopath” and said that she was a “shame to the country,” Newsweek reported

“We are raising a generation of weak people like Simone Biles. If she’s got all these mental health problems: don’t show up…of course she’s an incredible athlete, she’s probably the greatest gymnast of all time, she’s also very selfish, she’s immature and she is a shame to the country,” Kirk said during an episode of his podcast The Charlie Kirk Show.

“Don’t show up, if you’re not ready for the big time, we’ve got thousands of young female gymnasts who would love to take her place…Simone Biles just showed the rest of the nation that when things get tough, you shatter into a million pieces,” he continued.

But Biles fans stood up for the gymnast, slamming both Morgan and Kirk for their comments.

Although Morgan and Kirk disagree with Biles’ decision to withdraw from the team competition, many people including White House press secretary Jen Psaki, retired U.S. figure skater Adam Rippon and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps fully support the gymnast and her desire to focus on her mental health, NBC reported.
